The story behind these handmade baby alpaca blankets is one of handcrafted tales. We help to support local communities of artisans in Ecuador, especially in the famous Otavalo city. The goal here is to help local artisans by representing their hand crafted, fair traded, natural products. Alpaca blankets are some of the finest luxury blankets in the world. They are incredibly soft  and warm. The alpaca fabric is a product of ancient Andean civilizations, when 6,000 years ago it had already evolved from the vicuña to produce a unique fiber. Alpaca fiber is worldwide renowned for its luxurious quality. Alpaca fiber is fine, strong (second only to silk among natural fibers), very warm, comfortable and has the lightness of a feather.
