The Height-Adjustable Reclining FloorBed sits just 2.8 inches off the ground when completely lowered½just a little higher than a tennis ball. This greatly reduces the chances of injury should the patient roll off the bed in the night without the use of bed rails, which present a hazard in emergency situations and can inhibit access to the patient. Standard mattresses will also compress on the edges when leaned on, which lowers the patient even closer to the floor before they leave the mattress, further reducing risk of injury. A safety mat is available that extends the bed surface to reduce the chances of the patient rolling too far to one side and falling.
The height-adjustable function of the FloorBed allows it to be raised to a more comfortable working height for the caregiver, reducing strain on the spine and granting greater access to the patient for a variety of care routines. The segmented frame can accommodate multiple levels of head and foot elevation, opening up a world of positioning possibilities that can cater to patient comfort, therapeutic need, and ease of caregiver access; in addition, the bed can be arranged for both Trendelenburg and anti-Trendelenburg. All of these adjustments can be made with the simple, user-friendly handset that features a lock-out setting to prevent patients from accidentally altering the bed½s position.
A variety of accessories are available to customize the bed to your specific needs. The FloorBed Plus offers a higher weight capacity and slighter wider bed deck to more comfortably accommodate bariatric patients. Concealed casters allow the bed to be moved from room to room, while adjustable mattress guides help position and then immobilize the mattress on the frame. A detachable bed lever can be installed to provide patients with a handhold to assist with getting in and out of the bed, as well as raising themselves up to a sitting position for a variety of care routines.
